Treat silent gum diseases before they become chronic

Having straight, pearliest teeth without any cavity along with fresh breath doesn’t mean that you acquire total oral hygiene. You may be having gum disease because it is usually painless and keeps reticent at times. So the question is, if it is silent, how can we know about it? According to American Dental Association some symptoms of gum diseases are as follows:

  • Consistent bad tastes and unbearable odor in mouth
  • Rapid loss of permanent teeth
  • Easily bleeding gums
  • Badly swollen, red or tender gums
  • Teeth pulling away from gums

After knowing symptoms, a question arises, why does gum disease occur? Answer is accumulation of plaque beneath and along the gum-line. Initial stage of the gum disease is called gingivitis. But more advanced one is periodontitis

Gingivitis

This is the earliest form of gum disease and fortunately the damage caused due to it is reversible. Here in this stage bones and tissues holding the teeth are not affected, so chances of recovery are 100%. Treat it when diagnosed as early as possible or it would grow silently to the next stage.

Periodontitis

If gingivitis is not treated timely, it can be transformed into an even more chronic form of gum disease called periodontitis. In this advanced phase, teeth are often detached from the bones and fibers that used to hold them. As soon as fibers and teeth bones lose their strength, it makes the biting task difficult.
